Dosing
Built up gradually, reviewed at every step.
Wegovy is built up gradually through a step-by-step titration. Starting low and building slowly is what keeps side effects manageable while the medication takes hold.
0.25 mg
A deliberately gentle start. The aim is adjustment, not effect, though many people notice appetite changes already.
Your clinician reviews each step before it happens. If a dose is working and well tolerated, there is no rush to move up. Not everyone needs the highest dose.
What’s included
Inside your course of care.
Your course of care is built on your health profile. Medication prescribed around your biology. Regular clinician check-ins. Ongoing support, with treatment adjusted as your body responds.
GLP-1 works by slowing down digestion, reducing your appetite and helping you feel fuller for longer. Quietens food noise. Prescribed if suitable.
Eligibility
Is treatment suitable for me?
Prescribing weight-loss treatment starts with your body mass index (BMI). This is about safety, not judgement. It gives you an idea whether GLP-1 medication is suitable before taking an online consultation.
Your BMI is a screening estimate for eligibility, not a diagnosis. Once you have completed your online consultation, a clinician will review your health profile. This will determine whether treatment is right for you.
Based on the ~17% average body-weight reduction over 68 weeks in semaglutide 2.4 mg trials (STEP 1). Individual results vary.
You may be eligible
Treatment can be appropriate at this BMI if you also have a weight-related health condition. A clinician reviews your full picture before deciding.

One hormone, precisely dialled in.
Semaglutide mimics GLP-1, a fullness hormone your gut already makes after eating. Select a step to see what it does, where.

What to expect
Month by month, honestly.
Semaglutide builds gradually, so the experience changes month by month. Here is what the journey typically looks like.

A quieter relationship with food
After the first injection, hunger signals soften and fullness arrives sooner. Mild nausea can appear as your body adjusts; smaller, slower meals help.
*Wilding JPH et al. Once-Weekly Semaglutide in Adults with Overweight or Obesity. N Engl J Med. 2021;384:989-1002. STEP 1: semaglutide 2.4 mg alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased activity. Individual results vary.

Your clinical team
We're here to help you feel healthier and more confident. This goes beyond medication. Our personalised, one-to-one care is designed for lasting change. And our team of clinicians supports you through every step, keeping you motivated and on track.
Every prescription is decided by a named, UK-registered pharmacist prescriber, and the same team reviews your progress at each step. You can verify any of them on the GPhC register.
Side effects
What is normal, and what is not.
Most side effects are digestive, mild, and most noticeable around dose changes while your body adapts. Knowing what is normal, and what is not, keeps you confident.
Common, and usually settle
- Nausea, especially in the first days after a dose increase
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Indigestion, burping, or reduced appetite beyond what you expect
- Headache or tiredness in the first weeks
- Redness or itching at the injection site
Speak to a clinician if you notice
- Severe stomach pain that does not pass, with or without vomiting
- Signs of dehydration, such as dizziness or dark urine
- Pain in the upper right of your abdomen (gallbladder symptoms)
- An allergic reaction: swelling, rash, or trouble breathing
- Persistent vomiting that stops you keeping fluids down
Reviews are built into every Curate plan and you can message your clinical team at any point between them. You are never adjusting alone.
How to use it
Easier than you think.
Wegovy comes as a pre-filled pen you inject once a week, on the same day each week, with or without food. Most people find it far easier than they expected.
Where to inject
The most common choice. Inject into the soft area at least 5 cm (2 inches) away from your belly button.
Rotate the site each week to keep skin happy. Missed a dose? Take it within five days, otherwise skip it and carry on with your normal schedule.

Do you offer Wegovy 7.2mg?
Yes, we offer the Wegovy 7.2mg single-use pen. Select this dose during your online consultation. You'll need to have used the 2.4mg injection for 4 weeks before moving up to 7.2mg.
What are the common side effects?
Most people tolerate semaglutide well. Mild digestive effects such as nausea, reduced appetite and occasional reflux are common when starting and usually ease within the first few weeks. If symptoms are severe or persist, contact your clinician.

How long does approval take?
Once you complete the online consultation, a specialist clinician reviews your order, usually within 48 working hours. You may be invited for a video consultation, particularly if you're new to treatment.
Can I pause or stop?
Yes, you're in control. You can pause or stop any time from your account, and your clinician will advise on doing so safely.
